Before you get started
Accessing your account
Access your account online at https://app.zubie.com.
Your Zubie account will initially be setup by our team. Expect an email asking to set your password.
Zubie Device activation
When you trial or order Zubie Devices, we will ship them pre-activated in your account. They are ready to be installed into vehicles. See below for installation instructions.
Update Your Preferences
Editing your account details
You can edit the details (company name, address, billing info) at any time. Go to the Web Portal > Menu > Account & Subscriptions.
Editing your User Preferences
Zubie will setup your profile with a default set of preferences - including what notifications you receive.
Go to the Web Portal > Menu > My Settings to update your notification preferences.
Zubie Devices are plugged into a vehicle's OBD-II port. Once plugged in, the vehicle engine must be turned on for about a minute for the device to detect the VIN and link to the vehicle.
For rental cars, we recommend a "stealth" installation so the device cannot easily be removed by customers or other rental locations.

Vehicles are automatically created when you plug a device into the vehicle, unless they are pre-loaded (see below). If vehicles are not pre-loaded, admins will receive an email when vehicles are created, and you can update other vehicle details (groups, tags, starting odometer) after a vehicle is created.
Vehicles can be "pre-created" in Zubie so vehicle attributes are correctly assigned after a device is installed.
- If you have a Counter System integration, vehicles will be automatically created in Zubie, using the Unit Number.
- If you don't have a Counter System integration, provide Zubie with a list of your vehicles, and we will pre-load them for you.
If you operate multiple locations, consider setting up Groups (Premium Tier only) to mimic your company hierarchy.
To setup groups, go to the Web Portal > Menu > Groups.

Tags are a powerful way for you to organize your fleet based on attributes. If Zubie is integrated with your counter system, we may automatically create tags for On Rent, Off Rent, Sold and other attributes.
To setup your own tags, go to the Web Portal > Menu > Tags.

Setup Account Users
Ready to enlist your team? Simply invite your employees or co-workers to access Zubie by adding them as users.
- In the Zubie Portal, go to the Web Portal > Menu > Users & Drivers.
- Users can be assigned an "Admin" or "Viewer" role.

Places (also known as Geofences) are really important way to identify where your inventory is located, and optionally, trigger alerts when vehicles arrive or depart.
You'll want to setup places for your primary rental locations, agencies, vendors, out of pool locations, and even impound lots.
Places can also be used for "out of market" alerts when vehicles leave your typical rental area.
Places can be imported by the Zubie team, or added manually through the portal. If you are a part of the Hertz system, talk to us about importing nationwide Hertz locations.
