- You can check the available charge on your device at any time by visiting the web application. Your asset will be visible on the left side of the screen, in the list of vehicles, like this
- For additional detail on battery drain over time, visit the Asset Overview page by clicking "Overview" (from the device list, as seen above). On the bottom left, you will see a graph depicting battery life over the past 30 days. By mousing over the blue line on this graph, you will see a day-by-day reading of battery levels.
- Virtually any wireless charger on the market will work to charge your Asset Trak device. Exceptions may be certain older Samsung branded chargers.
- The battery will not charge if the device is attached to the magnetic plate. Leaving the magnetic plate attached will likely damage your charger as well. Make sure you place only the device on the charging pad.
- The device should be placed with the button and lights facing up.
- The battery will reach full charge in approximately 4 hours.
- Keep in mind that your battery life my vary based on the device's configuration.
- The "out of the box" configuration of 4 pings per day should offer battery life of at least 9 months.
- This can be adjusted in favor of more battery life, though the ping frequency will be reduced. At one ping per day, a charge should last 18-24 months.
- The device can also be set into "motion detection" mode, which will cause it to send a signal any time your asset moves, until it stops moving. This will consume substantially more battery life, potentially draining the battery in as little as 7-10 days depending on how much the device moves.
