Asset Types and Assets
Each Asset (an individual piece of equipement) that you wish to monitor must be assigned to an Asset Type. You can define Asset Types as needed - the application only requires you to have one, but you may wish to distinguish different types of equipment, for example, lawnmowers, trailers, or generators. This can make it easier to find things on the Live Map, for example.
Start by going to the Asset Types option from the main menu in the web application (or just click here).
You should see a screen that looks like the one below
Click "Add Asset Type," and the following line should appear
Assets require only a name, however, you can click the "Icon" box to select a custom icon for your selected asset type. This will appear in the information pins on the Live Map.
Click Save to continue.
Once you have created an Asset Type, you can move on to creating individual assets.
