This feature applies to customers of Zubie Rental Connect.
If a vehicle is ever lost or stolen, Zubie offers a means to enable a special tracking mode (Recovery Mode) that provides more frequent data updates that may be useful in tracking a vehicle.
Under normal circumstances, Zubie devices send a regular "heartbeat" when the engine is not turned on. These signals are sent infrequently (once every few hours) to avoid draining the vehicle's battery when the engine isn't running. Engaging recovery mode will change the frequency of these heartbeats to a much higher rate (roughly every 10 minutes). This means that a vehicle that is being towed or transported can provide high-frequency updates even when the engine isn't running.
Recovery mode should only be engaged when absolutely required because it can drain the battery. Zubie enables users to activate this mode in the application, but when a vehicle is recovered, or after 24-48 hours, the Zubie device needs to be returned to its normal operating mode.
The short video below explains how to use Recovery Mode within the Zubie application.
